Real Madrid have been actively involved in the pursuit of a new goalkeeper, as manager Zinedine Zidane seems to be losing faith in Keylor Navas.
A number of players like David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois have been rumoured as potential replacements. However, it seems that Real Madrid are hitting a stumbling block with regard to potential moves for those players. As a result, the club have reportedly shifted their attention towards Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who only recently signed a new contract with the North London outfit. Lloris has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League since coming from Lyon
Even though the Costa Rican goalkeeper had a brilliant start to his Real Madrid career after managing to win the likes of the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup in only his second season at the club, Zidane does not seem to be entirely happy with the performances of the 30-year-old.
This has led to constant speculation that the club may be trying to pursue players like David de Gea, who was linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu back in 2015.
David de Gea signed a new contract with United in order to stay at Old Trafford. However, rumours have once again surfaced about the United goalkeeper. Jose Mourinho is ready to persuade De Gea to remain at Old Trafford. With greater indication about the Spaniard ready to sign a new contract with Manchester United, Real Madrid are ready to switch their attention towards Spurs star Hugo Lloris. Lloris has been at Tottenham since 2012 after coming for a sizeable €12 million transfer fee. Even though he is now 30 years old, Lloris is expected to command an even greater fee. Tottenham, though, may not be ready to sell the player considering that the club are entering into an exciting phase.
