TURNER SET TO FINALISE ARSENAL TRANSFER

United States of America (USA) international shot stopper Matt Turner will complete his transfer to Premier League side Arsenal this week according to journalist Ryan Taylor who works with English publication Daily Express. He has been speaking about the American goalkeeper and his transfer to Arsenal on his YouTube channel.

Major League Soccer (MLS)  side New England Revolution revealed in February that they have agreed a deal with the Gunners for Turner, but the Premier League giants are yet to make the move official. Turner has been vocal about his move to Arsenal, but there has not been an official announcement from the North London club.

Ryan Taylor said Turner will have a medical at Arsenal on Wednesday before the signing is made official by the club later in the week. He would be the third Arsenal signing of the summer after young Brazilian attacker Marquinhos and Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira.

Arsenal made their first signing of the summer after paying €3.5m to secure the transfer of 19-year-old attacker Marquinhos from Sao Paulo in the Brazilian league. The second signing of the summer was announced on Tuesday with the €40m signing of Vieira from Portuguese champions FC Porto. The 22-year-old Portuguese star has signed a long-term contract with the Gunners who will pay €35m plus €5m in add-ons for the player.

On Turner, the American shot stopper will join Arsenal officially on July 1. However, the transfer is expected to be announced by the Gunners before then. The imminent arrival of Turner at Arsenal could lead to the exit of German star Bernd Leno who has one year remaining on his current deal with the North Londoners. He has been linked with a move to newly promoted team Fulham who sealed a return to the top flight by winning the English Championship.
