A makeshift Arsenal team suffered pre-season for the first time this summer with the 2-1 defeat to London rivals Brentford at the club’s London Colney training ground on Wednesday. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta named a weak team for the Brentford game as several of his first-team players missed the game. The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey and William Saliba were absent from the squad.

Eddie Nketiah has been in sensational pre-season form and he was responsible for the lone Arsenal goal during the game against the Bees. For Brentford, Frenchman Bryan Mbeumoscored one of the goals.
