Shaqiri is said to be fed up with the limited game time he has at Liverpool and has already told the club that he wishes to leave this summer and a move to Lyon could be on the cards in what is expected to be a beneficial transfer for the player. Before the arrival of Portugal international forward Diogo Jota at Liverpool, Shaqiri was already in the shadows of the trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino but the situation became worse for the Swiss star after Jota was signed by Jurgen Klopp.
Despite the struggle he keeps getting to play for Liverpool under Klopp, Shaqiri is a confirmed starter for the Switzerland national team and was also called up to link up with the rest of the squad for their UEFA Euros campaign earlier in the summer.
