Brighton and Hove Albion have failed in their Premier League top spot bid after they were beaten at the home of newly promoted team Fulham on Tuesday. The Seagulls fluffed their lines against Fulham as they failed to take the opportunity to take top spot on the Premier League table with an away win.
Brighton could have gone above the trio of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and leaders Arsenal to secure the summit on the Premier League log if they were able to beat opponents Fulham in front of their home fans in London. In the end, the failed to usurp the top three teams as they stayed in fourth spot after suffering their first defeat of the season. On their part, Fulham move from the bottom half of the table to the top half of the table with their win over Brighton. They are now up to sixth spot on the log having moved seven positions up the table.
Graham Potter and his Brighton and Hove Albion players would be hoping to bounce back from the defeat to the Cottagers when they take on bottom team Leicester City at home this weekend. For Fulham, they have a London Derby clash with Tottenham Hotspur away from home this weekend as they try to build on their win over Brighton.
