MAKESHIFT ARSENAL BEATEN BY BRENTFORD

A makeshift Arsenal team suffered pre-season for the first time this summer with the 2-1 defeat to London rivals Brentford at the club’s London Colney training ground on Wednesday. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta named a weak team for the Brentford game as several of his first-team players missed the game. The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey and William Saliba were absent from the squad.

Eddie Nketiah has been in sensational pre-season form and he was responsible for the lone Arsenal goal during the game against the Bees. For Brentford, Frenchman Bryan Mbeumoscored one of the goals. The likes of Rob Holding, Nuno Tavares, Albert-SambiLokonga, Mohammed ElNenny, Marquinhos and Reiss Nelson.

England junior international Nketiah has a pre-season tally of five goals in six games after his goal against The Bees. Apart from Nketiah, Folarin Balogun and Albert-SambiLokonga also scored for the Gunners.

Nketiah was not amongst the goals as Arsenal came from behind to beat Nuremberg 5-3. New signing Gabriel Jesus scored his first goals  for Arsenal during the game having moved to the club in a deal worth £45m. The Brazilian attacker left Premier League champions Manchester City for Arsenal so as to play regularly first-team football. He’s the main man in the Arsenal attack.

Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 to make it three wins in a row with Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka getting the goals for the Gunners. In their next pre-season game, Arsenal beat MLS club Orlando City 3-1 to continue their good form. The Orlando City game was just before the 4-0 win over Chelsea in the Florida Cup final.
