CHELSEA SET TO SECURE THIRD SPOT

Chelsea have already sealed their place in the Champions League next season and they can go one better by securing third spot on the league table if they see off Leicester City in their rescheduled game on Thursday night. Ahead of the game, Chelsea are favourites to take the three points at stake.

Manager Thomas Tuchel is expected to make some changes to his starting XI for the Leicester City game in comparison to the one that started the FA Cup final defeat at the hands of Liverpool. Tuchel would be hoping that his team can bounce back from losing to Liverpool in the FA Cup on Saturday by picking up the three points at stake at the expense of Leicester City to secure third position.

Chelsea are two points ahead of London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on the league table, but they have played one game more than Spurs. Arsenal are two points off Spurs having played the same number of games with their North London rivals.

For the FA Cup final, England international Mason Mount failed to convert the decisive penalty in sudden death. Greek left-back KostantinosTsimikas succeeded where Mount failed by scoring his own spot kick to win the game for the Reds.Tsimikas scored the decisive spot kick to give Liverpool a 6-5 win on penalties.

Liverpool have won two trophies this season and they have both been at the expense of Chelsea. They had beaten Chelsea 11-10 on penalties to win the Carabao Cup title earlier in the season before the FA Cup title was added. The Reds are going for two more trophies to make it an unprecedented four trophies in the English top flight. Liverpool are in a battle with Manchester City for the league title, while they will face Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
